If Only There Was a Symbolic Representation of Value That Could Be Used to Address Shortages

It appears that even with Covid infections and hospitalizations falling hospitals still cannot get nurses.

Let’s see: The pay sucks, the benefits are not great, the hours are insane, and since vaccines became widely available, you have had to spend the overwhelming amount your time and effort on people who CHOSE not to do the right thing.

So a lot of them are getting out, and a lot of other ones are working as temporary Travel Nurses, who make at least two times what a staff nurse might make.

Pay them more. Require less mandatory overtime. Make their schedules more regular.

That should help a lot.

I know, people are asking, “Where do you get the money?”, and my answer is, “Fire the senior administrators making seven figures a year.”
